The rage of Captain Marvel has already shown she has what it takes to beat both Iron Man and Thor in a fair fight, thanks to their crucial weaknesses. But Carol’s mission to kill the Avengers has finally gotten to the hard part: taking on the team member who is too strong, too sturdy, and too powerful to show a weakness at all. And oh how she can smash…
Thanks to the solicitations and previews released long before Captain Marvel’s current arc, “The Last Avenger” started, fans were shown an evil version of Carol Danvers who, for reasons unknown, needs to kill every member of the Avengers in a single day. Fortunately Captain Marvel murdering Thor turned out to be a deception. Yes, Carol had succeeded in defeating Thor in violent fashion, and would soon beat Iron Man in open combat as well. But once the true villain of the story was revealed, along with Carol’s plan to fight, defeat, but then swap out the bodies of her Avengers friends with cloned corpses, fans could exhale. More importantly, they could sit back and enjoy the fights to come, to see for themselves how heroes like Black Panther and the other Avengers would rank against Captain Marvel. Next up? She-Hulk… the opponent Carol had been dreading.
The recent Avengers comics have given She-Hulk brand new powers thanks to Wakandan technology. But even relying on her raw strength in the official preview for Captain Marvel #15, it’s obvious that Carol is right: Jennifer Walters is a whole new level of fighter compared to Tony and Thor. Check out the official preview pages below:
The story would demand that Carol find some way to get the upper hand on She-Hulk, or succeed in making Jen angry enough to effectively defeat herself. But with the clock ticking, and Captain Marvel’s toughest battle officially begun, it’s anyone’s guess where the story will head from here. In the meantime readers can check out the full solicitations details and plot synopsis below:
