HP has earned a deservedly respected reputation for its range of business-focused laptops. Now, with its new 2021 lineup, HP believes it can lead the world in collaborative and productive workflows. So, what does HP have up its sleeve for 2021 and beyond? An entire fleet of new laptops and refreshes to older models, as it turns out.
HP Elite Dragonfly G2 / HP Elite Dragonfly Max
The HP Elite Dragonfly G2 and HP Elite Dragonfly Max will replace the existing HP Elite Dragonfly (opens in new tab), which is currently one of the best laptops (opens in new tab) on the market. Both the G2 and Max will be available with 11th generation Intel Core processors, featuring vPro technology and new Intel integrated graphics, up to 32GB of LPDDR4 memory, and a new modernized spill-resistant keyboard. However, for the best conference calling experience, the Max boasts a 5MP camera, in place of the G2’s comparatively weaker 1.2MP camera, as well as an additional world facing microphone. Both laptops will be available in January with pricing to follow closer to availability.
HP Elite Folio
A 2-in-1 with a difference, the HP Elite Folio is the successor to 2019’s HP Spectre Folio, with its most distinctive feature being its ‘pull-forward’ design. This allows the Elite Folio’s screen to tilt forward and rest between the trackpad and keyboard, which HP describes as the ‘ideal’ mode for media consumption. The Elite Folio’s has a 13” touchscreen display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 compute platform, with up to 16GB of LPDDR4x memory, and supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth connectivity. The Folio also comes with the HP Elite Slim Active Pen which can charge in the built-in storage space above the keyboard. The Elite Folio will be available in February with pricing to follow closer to availability.
HP ENVY 14
What’s in a name? There’s plenty to be envious about the HP ENVY 14 that will make it one of best laptops for college (opens in new tab). Other HP laptops at CES 2021
HP isn’t done with you just yet my friend. We told you it had a whole fleet of new laptops and we meant it. While the above where certainly the heavy hitters, there are also some revisions and updates to popular HP laptops coming. The HP EliteBook x360 1030/1040 and HP Elite x2 will both receive a refresh and will be available in January and April, respectively, with pricing for both laptops due closer to release. The HP EliteBook 840 G8 is also getting a refresh of sorts, the Elitebook 840 G8 Aero, with a starting weight of under 2.5 lbs. When it arrives in March, it will be the lightest business laptop on the market.
