Debuting in Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck’s Captain Marvel from 2018, MCU’s first solo headlining female hero is set to grace the big screen again for her next standalone adventure. With that, many are looking forward to see where her next movie will take her and how it’ll connect to the bigger franchise....

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe enters into its slate of Phase 3 films, all eyes are cast on the impending outcome of Captain America: Civil War and its inevitable fallout in the MCU after Captain America and Iron Man go to “war” (with their supporters in tow). Captain Marvel producer Jonathan Schwartz says the movie is structured differently than other superhero origin stories. Beginning with the original Iron Man in 2008, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has typically introduced new superheroes by exploring their humble beginnings. Playing Maria Rambeau, the actress took over the role after DeWanda Wise, who was cast to portray the character originally, backed out due to a scheduling conflict. Goose the Cat gets the spotlight in a new behind-the-scenes Captain Marvel video. Although known as Chewie in the comics, in reference to Star Wars, Carol Danvers’ furry friend was as prominent on the screen as she was on the page. Now going by Goose, in a reference to Top Gun and better tying into Carol’s fighter-pilot past, the cuddly critter was revealed to be more than she seemed. Rather than a cat, Goose turned out to be a Flerken: an alien creature whose body houses a pocket dimension through which Goose can consume enemies - and Tesseracts - via tentacles unleashed from her mouth....

Captain Marvel could potentially set up the upcoming Black Widow movie. The recently-released one-sheet poster for Captain Marvel gave Blacklist screenwriter Jac Schaeffer an unexpected writing credit; given Schaeffer is working on the script for the Black Widow movie, that definitely seems to imply there’s some sort of connection between the two films. Captain Marvel increasingly feels like something of a prequel film for the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. STX has pushed the Chadwick Boseman-led crime thriller 21 Bridges back two months from September to a November 2019 release date. A February ChangeWave survey on future demand for tablet devices bodes well for Apple’s iPad, even though over a hundred rival devices are coming its way. The research firm surveyed 3,091 consumers in February – before Apple announced iPad 2 – in an effort to discover their future tablet buying habits, which is usually a tell-tale sign of the popularity of competing devices in the marketplace. The results confirm that tablets remain in high demand as more than one in four respondents (27 percent) said their future buying plans include a tablet, a two percentage point increase over ChangeWave’s survey in November of last year....
When Black Panther landed in theaters, the titular character wasn’t just the king of Wakanda, but also the box office, and there were plenty of people talking about Marvel’s on screen superhero T’Challa. T’Challa isn’t the only hero in Marvel Comics to don the Black Panther habit though. While the Marvel Cinematic Universe presented Black Panther as an inherited title, the Marvel Comics do not.
